Well! It’s been quite a week here at Withering Heights (yes…I have purposely played on the word). After being pretty much surrounded by reports of death not only in the celebrity form but let’s not forget the unfortunate and what is now looking like a systemic failure of a Metro Train here in DC. Apparently the relay did not recognize there was a train stopped and the system allowed the second car to maintain a 59 m.p.h speed and the second driver’s attempt to engage the emergency brake failed. It was afternoon rush hour and the train was an inbound, so it could have been even more catastrophic than it was. So this just further supports my theory that when your time is up…it’s up. Enough of the dark side…I have news. News that will make the angels sing…well they did when I discovered these anyway:

Sliced mango…I mean think about how much of a P.I.A it is to slice one of these babies and get as close to the pit and skin to get every bit of sweetness. Then I have to floss after because I use my teeth to scrape the inside of the peel…well you get the picture. A fruit I normally pass on buying because of the work involved with eating. Then DelMonte comes along and manages to pack these up without preservatives…so convenient. Costco size though, so I’m eating mango for the next couple of days with every meal, snack…etc. OMGoodness they are good.
Next up…the solution to all of the world’s problems…good quality chocolate and corn flakes…all in one. So that makes it healthy…right? Who knew?!

It is a fabulous morning here in NoVA after some thunderstorms blew through the 90+ temperatures late yesterday. It’s 67 outside right now and I have horse lolling about in a stall and both of us could use a ride out through the Apple Orchard this morning. I’m off. I wonder if Johnny would like mango…
Problem Solved!

You hit two of my favorites there in one post. Thank goodness the nearby grocery stopped selling that variety of Ritter bar because I truly found it impossible to resist. And mango – bliss!!!
